FLOWER POSTER SERIES

PROJECT SCOPE:

This project is a typographic poster series exploring the visual identity and symbolism of different flowers through bold layouts and expressive type. The objective was to create a cohesive set of designs that combine photography, color, and typography to communicate the personality of flowers such as daisies, dahlias, sunflowers, and marigolds. Each poster pairs vibrant floral imagery with strong typographic treatments so the type functions as a primary visual element rather than just supporting information. A key challenge was maintaining consistency across the series while still allowing each flower to feel visually distinct. This was solved by developing a structured grid system, repeating layout elements, and using a unified dark background across all posters. Color palettes and typographic styles were then varied to reflect the character of each flower, while hierarchy and readability were carefully balanced through scale, spacing, and supporting graphic elements. The result is a cohesive poster collection that demonstrates how typography and imagery can work together within a clear visual system.

FINAL NOTES:

This project strengthened my ability to build a cohesive design system while still allowing for visual variation within a series. It challenged me to think carefully about hierarchy, typography, and color relationships so that each poster could stand on its own while still feeling connected to the larger collection. By focusing on consistent structure and intentional design decisions, I was able to create a balanced set of compositions that highlight both the visual impact of the flowers and the expressive potential of typography.
